Briones Cub Day Camp 2025

Information

Join us for our incredible Briones Cub Scout Day Camp from June 23-27, 2025 at Sugarloaf Open Space, Orchard Picnic Area.

This Cub Camp is open to all Boys and Girls in Cub Scouts entering the 1st – 5th Grade. Cub Scouts will participate in various activities such as:

  • Valuable Cub/Scout Skills & Crafts
  • Science/Cultural Experiences
  • Field Games
  • Make New Friends
  • Meet Cub Scouts from other Packs

Camp is open to all Boys and Girls (Cub Scouts) entering 1st - 5th Grade in Fall of 2025.

 ***Please note that Tigers, which are scouts entering 1st grade in September 2025, must be accompanied full time by their parent/guardian (as a volunteer) if they wish to attend. If you are not currently a scout volunteer, you can attend camp by filling out a membership application.

Early registration closes on May 23th, Final registration closes on June 9th or when the roster fills up. Space is limited, reserve now!

The Council Places the safety and well-being of our Scouts, parents, campers and volunteers at the forefront. The ability to go forward with Day Camp depends on having sufficient volunteers to ensure the proper supervision of campers as well as a sufficient minimum number of participants.

TIMES AND DATES:

June 23-27th, The Day Camp runs from 8:45am-3:00pm  Monday though Friday.

Campers 

Drop-Off: 8:15am-8:45am

Program: 8:45pm-3:00pm

Pick-Up: 3:00pm-3:15pm M-Fri.

Volunteers 8:00am-3:30pm

REGISTRATION FEES/COST

Registration includes all activities and materials, Camp T-shirt, and official day camp scout patch.

TAGS (Tag Along Siblings)

Tags (3-5 YO and potty trained): $50

Younger siblings are welcome to come participate in the program while their older sibling is having fun at camp if their mom or dad to volunteer and allowing to make camp a great experience for the family.  The Medical AB form is required for the TAGs as well as the other volunteers and scouts. The link to the form is on the right side of the screen under attachments.

TAGS do have a fee of $50, which includes a t-shirt and Patch but keep in mind, they MUST have a volunteer parents on-site the entire week.

REGISTRATION TIPS

1) When entering Registrant Name please use the parent/guardian name, there will be another page for Scout's name.

2) It is important to add the Primary parent contact name, email, and cellphone.  In case of an emergency, we will always attempt to reach out to the Primary Contact. But just in case of an emergency, please list a Secondary contact name, email, and cellphone as well.

3) Please include the GRADE YOUR SCOUT IS ENTERING in the Fall after Day Camp along with the RANK YOUR SCOUT WILL BE STARTING in the Fall after Day Camp.

(Tigers are 1st Grade, ***Please note that Tigers (Scouts in 1st grade in September 2025) must be accompanied full time by their parent/guardian (as a volunteer). This is a BSA regulation.

Bear 3rd Grade
Webelos 4th Grade
Arrow of Light (AOL) 5th Grade 

Scouts that have bridged or that will be in 6th Grade (Sep 2025) cannot attend nor volunteer at this camp.

ADULT VOLUNTEERS

Day Camp is 100% volunteer-run. Adult and Jr. Helper volunteers are needed to make this a great camp for all!  Adults may help as:

Den Leaders (Escort and help Cub Scouts at various stations)  

Station Leaders (Teach Cubs how to complete projects and/or perform activities)

DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE - There is also a monetary incentive for volunteering at your scout’s camp this year too!  If you volunteer a certain number of days, you will receive a discount on your scout’s tuition making the final cost the following:

Volunteer 2 Days - $200 final cost of enrollment

Volunteer 3 Days - $175 final cost of enrollment

Volunteer 4 Days - $150 final cost of enrollment

Volunteer 5 Days - $100 final cost of enrollment

NOTE: Parents that don't honor their volunteer commitment will be charged the full price + a $25 service fee for the additional processing. 


ADULT VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

There are some requirements to ensure the safety of all Day Camp Participants:

Scouting America Registered- To be an adult volunteer, you must be Scouting America registered.  If you’re leader with your pack or troop, you most likely are already registered.  If you’re a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle of a Cub Scout and are not involved with the pack or troop, you need to complete an application. If you completed an application to volunteer at camp last year, you need to do it again this year (Scouting America Rules not mine). Download the Scouting America Adult Member Application on the right side of the screen under attachments.

Current Youth Protection Training (YPT) Certification for all Adults - You’ll need to send a copy of your certificate with your registration.  Don’t worry if you don’t’ have one, training is online. Link is on the right side of the screen under attachments.

Directions are available once you click on the link: Create an account. Click on Menu in the upper left.  Then click on my dashboard.  Your training should now be on the screen.  Click on Youth protection training certification take course. Follow instructions on course page to take course and print certification.  Please note this class takes about an hour.

Orientation– To help make this a safe, fun and memorable event for the Cubs, all volunteers must attend at least one zoom Orientation/Training meeting.  Dates and times to be announced closer to the camp date. .

JR HELPER VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

All Jr. Helpers must either be between 8th-12th grade or are in the 6th-7th Grade and have a parent volunteering along with them. All Jr. Helpers must be a registered Scouting America youth.  If you’re registered as a Scouts BSA, Sea Scout, Venturer or Explorer, you will not need to complete a youth application.  All other youth must fill out a Youth Application. Link to the form is on the right side of the screen under attachments.

TRAINING SESSION
To help make this a safe, fun and memorable event for the Cubs, all volunteers must attend at least one Training meeting; details on the dates and times to be announced closer to the camp date. Junior volunteers are also required to have their Medical AB Form. The link to the form is on the right side of the screen under attachments.
